Dreieich-based project developer Four Parx GmbH, which specializes in innovative logistics and commercial properties, welcomes another tenant to its two-story “Mach2” logistics and commercial property in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. Following full occupancy of the lower floor by international aircraft manufacturer Airbus, JYSK SE, an international retailer of Scandinavian sleep and living products headquartered in Handewitt, Schleswig-Holstein, is moving into a total usable space of 25,819 sqm on the upper floor.

With two rental contracts, JYSK has secured a total of 21,603 sqm of warehouse space, 371 sqm of office space, and 2,384 sqm of mezzanine space, including 28 parking spaces, as well as 1,461 m2 of additional office space and 40 parking spaces in the outdoor and indoor areas. At the new location, the company will carry out warehousing, order picking, and the onward distribution of retail goods, in particular furniture from the home and garden segment but also textiles and decorative items. Specifically, this will involve checking and booking unloaded items from overseas containers, storing and picking goods on suitable loading equipment, and transporting the goods to the main facility as well as to the affiliated JYSK stores.

“The location of ‘Mach2’ with direct proximity to the Port of Hamburg is ideal for JYSK as a globally active trading company. By leasing the space in the commercial and logistics property, we are creating space for further growth in a dynamic region and expanding our warehouse capacity within Germany,” says Oliver Mumme, Director Logistics at JYSK.

Four Parx realized the lighthouse project “Mach2” together with the investment and asset manager AEW and the general contractor GSE Germany. It is intended as a signpost for dealing with increasingly scarce space and rising land prices in metropolitan areas and urban centers. With this project, Four Parx broke new ground in many ways, as no comparable reference projects existed before.

“After having let the first-floor space to Airbus, JYSK leasing the upper floor and two further binding reservations of the last vacant space on the upper floor, the property is 100 percent leased after a short period of time. This is a great success, which speaks for the increasing demand for innovative commercial and logistics space,” says Thomas Poulis-Leinberger, Executive Director, Head of Asset Management & Development Logistics Europe at AEW.

“We are very pleased to announce JYSK as another exciting tenant in Hamburg. The outstanding location and infrastructure offer optimal conditions for the company’s activities as well as further development. We would like to thank the new tenant and all parties involved in the project for the cooperative partnership,” says Oliver Schmitt, Managing Partner at Four Parx.
